Molly and Miles are perfect for each other. Both have dust allergies and carry vacuum cleaners everywhere — even to their wedding. Love may overcome every obstacle, but tangled cables put that belief to the test.

Composer’s notes

The fairy-tale story and poetic voice-over called for music that could guide each twist. A string quartet initially sounds as though it belongs at the wedding. When the couple’s vacuum cables keep them apart, the music stops to let the joke land.

From there, the score follows their emotions and the stories told at the altar. When a bridesmaid suggests cordless vacuum cleaners, the couple can finally kiss. The music shifts from orchestral writing into contemporary pop and disco as the celebration begins.
