HELGA

A lonely pensioner’s usual evening in front of the television is interrupted by a phone call: a survey about students’ digital media habits. Rather than hanging up, Helga pretends to be a student herself. For a brief moment, she returns to her youth and leaves her loneliness behind.

Helga plays the accordion, so the instrument became central to the score. Alongside its notes and chords, I used the breath-like sounds of its bellows to accompany the film.
